A 100%
B.C. owned and operated company
We are a 100% B.C. owned and operated company.
We are an established and growing company selling over 1,000,000
Lbs. of coffee annually.
We import, roast and package all our coffees
in Maple Ridge. We work closely with many farmers and millers
to ensure that you are receiving the absolute best possible coffee
that can be harvested. We guarantee that you will be satisfied
with our product. We include our customers comments and suggestions
in producing many of our coffees specific taste profiles, packaging
design and customer service. We have several experienced tasters
on premises.
We roast all our coffees using a dry roasting
technique which eliminates the use of water in the cooling process
of the beans. In many conventional wet roasters water is sprayed
on the beans to cool the beans after roasting this adds weight
to the beans and washes away essential oils and flavor at the
surface of the beans. All our coffees are from 18 screen 100%
Arabica coffee beans and our Decaf coffees are 100% Swiss Water
Decaf.
All coffee beans are grown within 10 degrees
of the equator. Coffee is planted in Central America, Africa
, Indonesia, Yemen, Papa New Guinea and India. There are two
types of species of coffee Robusta and Arabica. Robusta is grown
in altitudes less than 2000 meters Arabica beans are planted
2000 meters and higher. Arabica beans are much superior than
Robusta beans.
Every cup of coffee is distinctive. Like wine
the more familiar you become with different taste profiles from
each country the more you will understand the difference in taste
that each country and each region within a country produces.
Coffee is harvested by hand and grows on trees.
The fruit of the coffee trees are bright red cherries, each of
which usually contains two coffee beans. A coffee tree will yield
about one pound of coffee per year. About 3,500 coffee beans
are needed to produce one pound (454g) of roasted coffee.
Coffee beans are picked and sent to a mill
where they are processed by removing the outer shell of the beans.
The coffee beans inside are washed, screened and then dried.
Coffee beans are shipped in burlap sacks and require roasting.
Each roast takes about 15 minutes. After the beans are roasted
they loose 20 % of the total weight of the beans.
This has been the passion of our family for
over 12 years. Our commitment to providing the best possible
coffee at an affordable price is what we are achieving. We know
you will love our products just as much as we do. Your satisfaction
is our motivation.
If you have a comment or suggestion regarding
our products we would love to hear from you.
